*ITEM: FILM SPLICING Viewer and Marker Antique Movie Camera Film Tool Needs Work
*MANUFACTURER: Unknown. The company stamp has partially rusted off. The letters that are readable look like: " DA - A TE " . I cannot identify the manufacturer.
*MODEL: Unknown. Looks like an 8mm or 16mm film viewer and marker for splicing.
*YEAR: Unknown. I aquired this viewer in a lot of old film processing equipment dated between 1933 and 1955.
*MATERIAL: Thin coated steel
*MEASURES: Approx. 7" x 4" x 2 1/2"
*CONDITION: This viewer was dripped on and has lots of surface rust. I did not plug it in but I did remove the bottom to take a picture of the inside. Inside looks fairly clean. While I was inside I checked out the marker mechanism. Looks like it just puts a cut on the edge of the film where the film will be spliced. It just clips the edge of the film. This device needs alot of work but is a very simply project for someone who does restoration work.
