*ITEM: THOMAS THE TANK TRAIN 1985 Limited Pull Back Rare Large Eye Pupil's, Lipstick

*MODEL: Large Pull Back
*YEAR: This one is stamped, "1985" but first series were released in 1984. The first pull backs released in 1984 with the 1985 stamping had the large eye pupil's, what looks like lip stick and no flare out on the smoke stack. During my research I found an actual picture of the 1984 version new in the box with the larger eye pupil's, lipstick and no flare out on the smoke stack. The caption to this picture is the first releases of these pull back toys were first released in 1984.
The lipstick I mentioned is not lipstick but only the appearance of lipstick from the darkened mouth.
The next series sets released in 1985 had smaller eye pupil's, no lip stick and the smoke stack flare out. These large scale pull backs were only released in 1985 then discontinued. Pull backs were not again produced until 1993 and only produced in a much smaller 3" scale.
*COLOR: Blue, Red, Yellow and Black
*MATERIAL: Diecast metal with plastic parts
*MEASURES: 6" not including the bumper stop and couplers X 2 1/8". 7 1/4" including the couplers.
*CONDITION: Loose and played with. Some dings, knicks, marks and play wear. Pull back mechanism appears to be working properly. The toy is pulled back and released on a hard surface and it scoots forward and a brisk pace. One of the black bumper stop stickers on one of the front bumpers is missing. All the graphics look really good. The name of the kid that first owned this toy is written on the back panel with a black ink marker.
