*ITEM:  BEST KEYs And Antique Samson Key Case With Prentice Zipper 1938 1941 Era

*MANUFACTURER: Best Key, Samson (Samsonite) and Prentice

*COLOR: Brown Case

*MEASURES: 3 1/2"  X  2 1/2"

*CONDITION: Looks good. No major abnormalities. Some minor marks and scratches on case and keys. Keys are worn from use. Case is in great antique condition due to good care.

*YEAR:  Exact date is unknown but researh puts this case and keys in the 1938 thru 1941 era. The case is marked, "Samson" which was changed to "Samsonite" in 1941. The "Best" keys are the key design and coloration used when they moved the company in 1938. The "Prentice" zipper on the case is in fact from the 1930's thru 1940's era.

In Speculation through research, The "Best" company was founded in 1925 and did not have the "Stars" around the key head. In 1938 when "Best" moved the company they evolved the products and put the stars around the key head.

This case and keys could even be older than I am stating since there's 1 key that is the "Best" design with no marking on it at all. The first "Best" keys made starting in 1925 did not have any company markings. The Samson name on the case was used from 1909 or so until 1941.
