*ITEM: Mercury Over Lock M-81A-3 Sewing Machine 1940's or 1950's
*MANUFACTURER: Mercury, The steel manufacturing tag is missing and this missing tag is normal for these earlier Mercury Over Lock sewing machines.
*MODEL: Over Lock Sewing Machine M-81A-3. This machine is difficult to find in any Mercury database because it most likely is a "Knockoff" of the Swinger model produced at that time.
*YEAR: 1940's, 1950's Era
*MEASURES:
*CONDITION: Mechanisms spin with no abnormal operating noises. The needle moves up and down properly.
*HISTORY: Research shows these "Over Lock" models it seems were a knockoff of the "Singer" Over Lock model produced in this time period. These "Mercury" Over Lock machines were produced for overseas sales only since they were knockoffs of the Singer model in the U.S.. This particular machine in this sale was brought back to the U.S. by an Asian immigrant with a tailors business.
