*ITEM: KEUFFEL ESSER Compensating Polar Planimeter No 4236 Late 1940 s

*MANUFACTURER: Keuffel & Esser

*MODEL: 4236 Compensating Polar Planimeter

*YEAR: Unknown, research tells me late 1940's. The late 1940's planimeters were produced in a green felt interior on the inside of the case, single latches on the box, black dials on the planimeter. The early 1950's planimeters had the beige case interior and double box latches. This box has a single latch like the 1940s case. Both the 1940's and 1950's planimeters had the "K&E" markings on the outside of the box. This planimeter box does not have the "K&E" markings. The company name on the instruments for both the late 1940's and 1950's instruments are painted white. The white lettering on this instrument isn't white or even painted on this planimenter. This planimeter just has the lettering indentations without the white paint. In my own opinion after research this planimeter was probably a transition instrument when Keuffel and Esser decided to make a few changes.

*MATERIAL: Metal

*MEASURES: Instrument approx. 5 1/4" Long, swing arm approx. 8 1/4"

*CONDITION: Visually inspected and not tested. All the components appear to be in good condition. The wheels turn and all looks straight.
