*ITEM : DALLAS BAND HOUSE Vintage Clarinet-Bakelite-Broken
*MANUFACTURER : Unknown, all that is stamped into the end pieces is " Made For, Dallas Band House, Dallas TX. ". I looked all over the clarinet and no manufacturing maker marks were noticed. The middle pieces are not stamped with any kind of marks, just the bell and the mouth piece parts have the "Dallas Band House" marks.
*MODEL : Unknown, would have been a house band piece owned by the Dallas band house.
*YEAR : Unknown, my guess would be the 1930's or 1940's when big band music was very popular.
*MEASURES : Approx. 26 1/2" Long, 3" dia. bell outside, 2 1/4" inside
*CONDITION : Used. No Cracks or Chips Noticed. This clarinet has a broken off insert piece. The round bakelite male insert joint with the cork seal around it is broken off where the two center sections are put together. This broken off insert joint piece will be shipped with the clarinet and the proper glue will have to be found and used to re-attach it so the clarinet can be played again. The rest of the male insertion joints are loose and probably will need new cork. All the Levers appear to be intact. This clarinet is untested by me. I am not a clarinet player. Clarinet has its dings, knicks, scratches, marks and wear.
*FEATURES : Brass levers and some history behind it. This clarinet does not come with any carry case.
*BODY MATERIAL : Appears to be bakelite but I am not an expert and cannot say for sure. It does look like the old pre-plastic material or hard rubber.
*Pictures of the broken off male insertion joint and some other pictures of the clarinet will be sent upon request.
