*ITEM: PAN AMERICAN Zyloid Clarinet 1924 Antique Music Instrument
*MANUFACTURER: " Pan American in Elkhart, Indiana (1919 thru 1955 or so), " was a subsidy of C.G. Conn
Note: Information about Pan American instruments may have some inaccuracy's since they were not an expensive instrument line and nobody kept track of them until now.
*MODEL: Zyloid, Pan American Boehm System 17 keys 6 rings
*SERIAL NUMBER: 84N B31 78L
*YEAR: 1924 thru 1925
*TONE/PITCH: Bb(Low Pitch)
*MEASURES: Approx. 25 to 26 inches assembled.
*CONDITION: Good used, I do not know anything about clarinets. All parts appear to be intact and looks good. Case has some dings, knicks, scratches, marks and serious wear. Clarinet has some minor marks and dings. The interior case is soiled and some soil in on the clarinet. This instrument was not played by me or anyone else for testing purposes. I have no idea if the tones/sound is good or bad. This clarinet will need to be tuned up and refurbished. New pads or whatever maintenance things are normal for clarinets. This clarinet definitely will need new cork fitting. The sections do not stay together because the cork is completely shot. The section cork connections are "Soooooo Loose". The finger levers don't spring back as they should and stay closed.
The carry case is beat up with lots of dings, knicks, scratches, marks and wear. One corner on the case is broken and the skin has some missing patches on the corners and edges.
