*ITEM: STAR WARS CED Capacitance Electronic Video Disc 1982 FOX First Release

*HISTORY: This CED video system was first released for sale to the public in 1982 which is the first year the original Star Wars movie was released for retail sale on all video formats including the CED system. These large CED video disks were at the beginning of the Star Wars era in respect to Hollywood releasing movies for retail sale. The release of the original Star Wars movie and the "Empire Strikes Back" into the retail market were the movies that drove sales of the CED video disk system up until 1986 when the system was discontinued due to lack of sales. The second Star Wars movie titled, "The Empire Strikes Back" was released for retail sale to the public in 1984 which most likely kept CED sales up until the 1986 end of the CED video system.

*MEASURES: Approx. 14" X 12 3/4"
*CONDITION: Unknown, I did not play this disc so I can't say if the movie is any good or if the movie even appears on a movie screen. The outside front and back are in nice shape and clean. No major abnormalities noticed on the labeling. This CED is being sold as a collectable and not an everyday usable item.

This video disk is big enough to be used as a wall hanger that can add to any Star Wars collection as one of the first video disk or tape releases for public retail sale.
